Job Description:
Job Description Summary MUSC is seeking a dedicated and skilled
nurse for our high-volume Admissions Transfer Center. This elite
team of professionals is the hub for all admissions and transfers
across our 16-hospital system in South Carolina and manages
approximately 2000 beds, coordinating approximately 1500 transfers
monthly and 1000 phone calls daily. The RN will be a key contact,
facilitating patient transfers to MUSC hospitals from MUSC as well
as non-MUSC facilities. This position collaborates with our Patient
Placement representatives and acts as a clinical resource and
facilitator. The RN will utilize technology for multi-faceted
communications and apply nursing knowledge derived from education
and experience. This position will help direct transfers,
admissions, bed requests from inpatient, outpatient, clinics,
pre-admits, and requests for cardiovascular and medical/surgical

Description Required Education and Experience: Associates degree in
nursing from an accredited school of nursing and (5) five years of
work experience as a registered nurse. BSN preferred. Current
licensure as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of
Nursing or a compact state. Current American Heart Association
(AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross
BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required. Preferred
Requirements: EPIC user experience Leadership experience, including
Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, and/or Nurse Manager Experience in
patient flow throughput and Call Center preferred Shift
Information: 0.9 FTE, 36 hours/week Three, 12-hour shifts (Day
shift) 7:00am – 7:00pm Rotating Holidays, Weekends, and Storm
Coverage required for all positions Physical Requirements: (C)

patient that can not assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of
force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required
from another healthcare worker. 20 lbs. of force is needed to push
a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet. 25 lbs. of force is
required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability
to maintain vision 20/40 corrected. (C) Ability to see and
recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (C) Ability to
match or discriminate between colors. (C) Ability to determine
distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (C) Good
peripheral vision capabilities. (C) Ability to maintain hearing
acuity, with correction. (C) Ability to perform gross motor
functions with frequent fine motor movements. (C) Ability to deal
effectively with stressful situations. (C) Ability to work rotating
shifts. (F) Ability to work overtime as required. (F) Ability to
