Facility: East Cooper Medical Center Location: Mount Pleasant, SC Department: ICU Position Type: Full Time, Nights Work Schedule: 7p-7a Position Summary Under the direction of the Department Director and/or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, effective, and patient-centered nursing care. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the healthcare needs of all assigned patients across the lifespan—from infant to geriatric—unless otherwise indicated. This role involves collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team and focuses on delivering high-quality care aligned with unit and hospital goals. Must be flexible and willing to float to comparable nursing units as needed. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily. Strong knowledge of general nursing theories and practices Ability to manage and teach others effectively Demonstrates initiative and independent judgment within scope of practice Sound decision-making in complex or high-pressure situations Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills Professionalism, tact, and discretion when interacting with patients, families, and physicians Adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations Ability to work flexible hours, including irregular shifts, weekends, and holidays Capable of assuming Charge Nurse responsibilities when requested Education & Certifications Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of South Carolina Successful completion of hospital-based nursing orientation program IV Therapy training and/or demonstrated competency within one year of hire Completion of annual Skills Fair and required departmental competency checklists Current certifications in BCLS, ACLS, and PALS recommended Advanced certification in specialty area and/or active membership in a professional organization strongly encouraged
