Charleston is celebrated for its historic charm, vibrant culture, and coastal beauty—making it a top destination for travel nursing jobs in South Carolina./n /n/nTravel Nursing Job Details/n /n - Job Title: Cardiac Stepdown RN – Travel Nurse/n - Assignment Type: Travel RN – Cardiac Stepdown/Observation Unit/n - Location: Charleston, SC 29407 (South Carolina nursing jobs)/n - Start Date: January 5, 2026/n - End Date: April 6, 2026/n - Contract Duration: 13 weeks/n - Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM, Monday–Thursday)/n - Hours per Week: 36/n - Weekends & Holidays: No weekends or holidays required/n - On-Call: Not required/n - Floating: May float to other observation units or be called off if census is low/n - Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,420 - $1,530 per week/n /n/nRegistered Nurse Qualifications/n /n - Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license (must be active prior to start)/n - At least 2 years of recent RN experience in cardiac stepdown, observation, or pre/post-operative units./n - BLS and ACLS certifications required/n - Strong clinical skills in airway assessment, conscious sedation, IV initiation/maintenance, medication reconciliation, phlebotomy, and lab value interpretation/n - Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment/n - First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply/n /n/nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities/n /n - Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in a six-bay, 23-hour observation unit (PACU) within a surgery center/n - Care for patients undergoing orthopedic, interventional radiology, and GI procedures/n - Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and operating room nurses to ensure optimal patient outcomes/n - Monitor patient status, administer medications, and perform necessary clinical interventions/n - Accurately document patient care and communicate effectively with the healthcare team/n - Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to patient care planning/n - Maintain a safe, secure environment for patients and staff (overnight building security provided)/n - Adapt to staffing models as needed (typically two RNs and one PCT per shift)/n /n/n Why Choose Charleston, SC?
