Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

NH Clinic Charleston, SC

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

• Answer telephone and transcribe accurate messages.
• Ensure that any broken or unsafe equipment is removed from the clinic in a timely manner and notify appropriate personnel.
• Assist with patient flow and give direct patient care as directed.
• Operate the following medical equipment, as directed, such as Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor, Handheld Nebulizer, EKG Machine (12 lead), Electronic Thermometer, IV infusion pump (Set-up only), Tympanometry. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Technologists or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
  • Possess a minimum of one year of full-time experience as a CMA within the last three years in a Medical Home Port outpatient environment service to a patient population that includes pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Current certification as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants or Current registration by the American Medical Technologists or other formal program.
