Pedestrian Doors Project Manager / Estimator - needed for Growing North Charleston Company!

Salary

$65,000 - $85,000 depending on Experience

Compensation includes Commission on a sliding scale On Invoiced Revenue. Average of 2.5%.

Full Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced estimator that will be a key component to our doors, frames, and hardware team for our client in North Charleston.

In this position as estimator, you would work closely with contractors and team members to evaluate relative costs or potential risks and conclude whether completing a project within the time frame and budget that the client wants is feasible.

It would be your responsibility to perform mathematical calculations and get quotes from vendors to estimate the cost needed for labor and materials. Estimators will submit material orders from the vendors, assign the job to sub-contractors or internal work force. Following the job from quoting to Invoicing. May also be responsible for reevaluating project needs through the course of the project to adjust environmental restraints or budget cuts.

Estimator Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyzing requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans
• Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product
• Preparing material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service
• Creating labor estimates for any project
• Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors
• Managing bids from vendors and contractors
• Using bid data to prepare a detailed cost analysis
• Presenting prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders
• Compiling and recording actual cost
• Provide any value engineering suggestions (alternates or price breakouts)
• Send for vendor price quotes as necessary
• Present completed bids and proposals on the established due dates to project manager
• Travel to work site might be required to establish existing conditions
• Verbal or written communications with general contractor to secure an accurate bid
  Estimator Skills and Qualifications:
  
  • Experience with Pedestian Doors is required!
  • Knowledge of OST, Quick Bid Software, Excel Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software
  • Proficient in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Report writing and strategic planning skills
  • Analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects
  • Analytic tools such as spreadsheet and database managers
  • Read and interpret technical documents
  • Written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Time management skills
