Job Description Job Description Degree in American Sign Language
(ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1
year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings.
Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be
considered. A full-time Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) position is
available in North Charleston, SC, supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing
(DHH) students in an educational setting. This on-site role is
essential to facilitating clear communication between students and
educators across elementary, middle, and high school classrooms,
assemblies, and extracurricular activities. Key responsibilities
include: Translating spoken language into American Sign Language
and vice versa to ensure full student access to instruction
Providing 1:1 support for pediatric students as needed
Collaborating with teachers and support staff to enhance student
learning experiences Participating in team meetings and
professional development opportunities to refine interpreting
skills Preferred qualifications and experience: Valid certification
as a Sign Language Interpreter An Educational Interpreter
Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher highly desired
Experience working in elementary, middle, and high school settings
Ability to provide focused 1:1 interpretation services in pediatric
environments Strong interpersonal and communication skills, coupled
with cultural sensitivity toward DHH students Location: North
